Description

Dead End City is an arcade shmup that takes the gameplay of genre classics and wraps it in a post-apocalyptic wasteland seen through the lens of 80's anime. Drive and shoot your way through the 5 occupied territories of Scorpio, a ruthless army of punks and marauders. Tear through their ranks with bullets, fire, lasers and more using 5 unlockable vehicles each with their own playstyle. Hone your skills and your score as you liberate the world from the oppressive hand of Scorpio.

History

After a lot of play sessions with a Galaga '88 arcade board and binging Fist of the North Star, an idea began to form. Take what I love about early 90's arcade shooters and give them the flavor of an action movie scene like something out of The Road Warrior. Have lunatics driving cobbled together vehicles on an errand to eliminate the player. At the same time, the player assumes the role of some wasteland survivor looking to avenge some wrong inflicted upon them by the leader of the lunatics. Sprinkle in a scoring system, lots of fun weapons, and a whole lot of explosions and Dead End City was born.
